Nickname Registration
Welcome to HybridIRC's nickname registration page. Registering a nickname is completely FREE. Registering your nickname means that no one on the entire server, regardless of the channel, can use your nickname except for you. To ensure that only you can use the nickname, you will need to choose a password that identifies you. However, if you do not use it within a year, your nickname will expire and be released. When this happens, any channel access you have, including any channels you own under that nickname, will be lost or automatically transferred to the first successor channel, if one exists.
In addition to protecting your nickname from unauthorized use, NickServ allows you to save settings for things like channels and other services. Registering your nickname also enables you to send offline messages to other registered users and receive messages or memos while offline.
You will also be able to upload an avatar via KiwiIRC, enhancing your identity on the network. This feature allows you to personalize your profile, making your interactions more engaging and unique.

Logging in: Identifying Your Nickname
Once you have registered your nickname with NickServ, you must log in (also known as "identifying") each time you connect to IRC to verify your identity.
To identify, use one of the following methods:
- Using NickServ Command:
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <password>
- Using SASL Authentication:
- Using a Web-Based IRC Client:
Replace <password> with the password you set when registering your nickname.
If your IRC client supports SASL authentication, you can configure it to automatically log in when connecting to the server. This eliminates the need to manually identify each time.
If you are connecting via a web-based IRC client such as KiwiIRC, TheLounge or gamja, simply enter your nickname and password in the login prompt when connecting.
By identifying successfully, you ensure that you retain control over your registered nickname and any associated privileges.
